Range Operations Coordinator

Reporting to: Head of Range Operations
Salary: Up to £35,000

Role Overview

We are seeking an organised and proactive Range Operations Coordinator to coordinate range service functions, support pre-launch planning and provide administrative support to the Head of Range Operations.

The role includes maintaining operational documentation, supporting the day-to-day running of Range Operations and assisting with launch activity, including Watchkeeper duties in the Operations Room when required.

Key Responsibilities

The Range Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Manage pre-launch tasks in line with the Range Launch Planner, including notifications, Marine Licence applications and associated documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Range Control Licence Reporting Plan and relevant operating procedures.
  • Coordinate the issuing of NOTAMs for meteorological balloon launches.
  • Manage and maintain the Range SharePoint site, records and operational documentation.
  • Assist the Head of Range Operations with day-to-day range activity.
  • Support launch day operations where required, including Watchkeeper duties within the Operations Room.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support safe, compliant and effective range operations.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills, with a professional manner and an understanding of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and willing to support colleagues when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, well-presented work.
  • Organised and calm under pressure, especially when working to deadlines or supporting operational activity.
  • Able to adapt to new processes, systems and software.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should have:

  • Ability to work within company standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Confident IT user, able to use databases, internal systems and Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience with computer programming software is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to handle information accurately and maintain records to a high standard.

Additional Information

  • A full, clean driving licence is required.
  • Launch campaigns may involve shift patterns, as launches can take place at any time of day or night.
  • The role requires flexibility, reliability and willingness to support operational requirements.
